Something Out of the Blue.

Believe me. My husband has a blog. And he asked me to help him with the coding. I was like, really?, and my eyes popped out. (Err, I'm having a picture of my eyeballs dangling from its socket in my head, uh-oh I should stop this unnecessary visualizing habits)

Shocking News.

Kids choking on their own fat, says report

LONDON: The death of a three-year-old girl from heart failure brought on by her excess weight was highlighted in a damning report yesterday by a British parliamentary committee examining a feared obesity epidemic.

One expert quoted in the report by the House of Commons Health Committee told of four children who required ventilatory assistance at home for a respiratory condition because of their obese condition.

The children were "choking on their own fat," said Dr Sheila McKenzie, a specialist consultant at the Royal London Hospital.

The report slammed the British government, the National Health Service, food manufacturers and advertisers for not doing enough to improve the nation's health and raise awareness of the risks of being overweight or obese.

It warned that obese children could become the first generation to die before their parents.

Among the committee's recommendations were a voluntary withdrawal of television advertising of junk food to children, and a clampdown on high-profile campaigns using sports stars and celebrities to promote crisps and chocolate.

Obesity in Britain has grown by almost 400% in 25 years, with three-quarters of adults now overweight or obese, the report said.

England has the fastest growing obesity problem in Europe, with childhood obesity tripling in 20 years.

The report calculated that being overweight or obese costs the nation £7.4bil (RM50.3bil) a year. - AFP

My note: This is why my heart ache everytime people gave remarks that Ameer is fat, and relieve when people said, "Eh, Ameer dah kurus la." Actually Ameer is neither fat nor thin, is it just that his built is above average Asian babies, so that he looks big (people tend to use the word fat rather than big) when he is actually not fat. And he weights more or less the same as the babies at his age that look thinner or smaller than him.

To all mothers out there, remember, really really fat babies are not cute, that's dangerous.

Boohoo hoo... bye bye my old, dear washing machine. You have been with me for 6 years, you have been very very nice, washing our clothes for me, during sunny days or rainy days. Now we have to say bye bye boohoo hoo....

Yes yes, new washing machine! Fully automatic! muah muah I love you. We're going to have fun together, I promise you. Old washing machine, get lost!

Nak jadi skema sekali sekala.

Seolah-olah jawapan tu dah jadi cliche.

(Saya selalu terfikir benar ke budak-budak muda ni dengar lagu Sharifah Aini? Saya sampai sekarang tak tahu lagu Sharifah Aini tu mcm mana rupa bentuknya)

Anda tentu selalu mendengar nama Sherlock Holmes bukan? Hahahaha betapa ignorantnya saya.

Selain daripada Sherlock Holmes, karya terkenal Sir Arthur ialah The Lost World. Errmm, saya belum lagi berkesempatan mencari bukunya yang satu ini, tunggulah Warehouse Sale lagi hehehe.

Apa yang menarik hati saya terhadap karyanya is that you can't help thinking,"what a damn clever man!" as you read through. No wonder Sherlock Holmes becomes a legend and The Lost World adapted to movies and serial dramas.

Berbalik kepada tokoh yang disegani tu, ingat ye kalau ada soalan macam ni, bagi jawapan yang tak cliche ye kawan-kawan?

p/s: jadi tak keskemaan aku? muehehehehehe.

Shriek at Shrek 2.

ooo so, Ina too have watched Shrek 2, in the cinema, with better audio and visual, in her attempts to jeer at me, as a response to my jeering yesterday.

Nyeh nyeh, but girl, read my lips, I watched it with my LOVED one, i repeat, my LOVED one, the dear husband and my lovable baby. And you?

Oh you poor little thing, I'm so, so sorry your lovey dovey boyfriend is somewhere in the far, far east country, which perhaps at GMT00 or GMT18, opps, that's Fiji Island I think, sorry sorry for mixing it up, ssyy ssyy don't cry my friend, you know we all love you :buat muka artificial muahahahaha:

Don't cry for me, Rosalina.

p/s: kau dah immune kan? ke HA? HA?

xoxoxo

OK, so aku kejam muehehehe sorry Ina, just wanna spices up the life yang boring kat office ni. Macam mana la anakku yang hensem [brag] tu tak bertambah nakal, dah maknya pon berperangai kejam macam ni muehehehehe.

Dua tiga hari ni Ameer dah mula tunjuk potensi kenakalan dia. Mula-mula dia tayang muka depan tv when we were trying to watch Shrek 2 and kept on blabblering. Agak-agaknya dia ingat orang dok khusyuk tengok tv tu sebab nak tengok aksi-aksi baby dia.. sorry la Ameer, mama tengok aksi kucing Puss in Boots la :P

Then at nights, dia refuse to sleep to practice lifting his butt up and down, and dok mengengsot sana sini. And blab, blab, blab. Imagine la pukul 1 pagi tak tido2 lagi. And he woke Ahmad up at 4.30 a.m. and Ahmad has to entertain him. Sekejap je laa.. pas tu abah tido balik, ceh!

Actually mama pon sama juga, letih laaa nak layan Ameer nih, dok membebel je. Baik tido muehehehehehe.

hhmm, aku masa mengandung dulu kuat membebel ke ha?

Then dia dah mula kacau masa Mama solat. Selalu kalau kita solat, dia akan duduk tepi tilam and wait. Lepas Mama bagi salam, dia akan ketawa terkekek-kekek. Dua hari lepas, dah pandai nak tarik-tarik sejadah and tarik kain telekong, ggrr. Jelaslah aku ni solat tak khusyuk muahahaha boleh tau Ameer buat apa.

err, aku macam nampak kening Amad berkerut nak bercantum dah, lariiiiiiii.

Shriek at Shrek.

hehehe i watched Shrek 2 yesterday. no, no, i don't watch it in the cinema la sayang, there's one particular someone who wasn't sure to allow me watch movies in the cinema, remember?

yeah yeah, i'm guilty of supporting piracy, but what choice do i have. i want to watch it now (as those girls in the office kept rambling about it, and i don't want to be left behind - they call it peer pressure hehe) furthermore, those american surely made lots and lots of million bucks already right?

[Don't you know that our country is in top 10 in piracy and that could dampen the economy, people don't want to invest, you're fattening the Along cetak rompak, government don't get the tax revenue bla bla bla] --> talk to my hand

now that i've watch the movie, i can jeer to Ina and said, "nyeh nyeh i've watched Shrek 2", and stuck my tongue out like this :P

Crossroad, ops.. Crossword.

Help me, please!! I'm doing crossword and I'm confused. Mega confused. My IQ is going to zero. So, your help is very, very much needed. Pretty please with sugar and icing on top :D

Question: The owner of a fine painting probably considers it a great --EAS-RE.

Answer: Treasure or Pleasure?

Question: One may more readily remember a FAC- if it is particularly interesting.

Answer: Face or Fact?

Oh, and if you could help me with the slogan, even better.

I have two:

Counting the stars in the sky as Malaysian Airlines aircraft glides stupendously through the night.

Fly up, up into the sky with Malaysia Airlines and reach for the stars.

Errr... pretty lame, isn't it? Yah, I'm bad at slogans. And to think that I majored in Marketing.

Note (if you haven't notice): The organizers of the contest are The Star and Malaysia Airlines.

Penniless.

I've done the routine of the month. Pay apartment rent, car loan repayment, credit card, insurance premium bla bla bla. And what's left for me?

A few hundred ringgit enough for my food and stuff. Oh, minus nursery fees. That make me three hundred ringgit poorer. I'll have enough to live my life for half the month. Ah, poor soul!

And my husband is no richer since he has another commitment to make. Hope the gain worth the investment.

Guess that's the last visit to Chilli's until the next salary. Boo hoo hoo.....

xoxoxo

Cokereto.

Sometime you just can't help it and put your hand in the air and despairly said,"Ah, forget it!"

That's how I ended up buying Cadbury's Caramello (yup the one that melt in your mouth soooo deliciously) and Kit Kat Chunky yum yum yum. I wanted to buy more, but my clear conscience helps me at the correct momento :D

I know what they'll do to my already-horizontally-challenge body, I'm guilty but I don't care. Fat, or no fat, I'm still me, am I not? Heh, who am I kidding?

Innerself: You, you idiot fat woman with acnes on your face!
Me talking back: Sheesh, get a life, you dull woman!

What's life without chocolate eh? Furthermore, I need to indulge myself before the money runs

p/s: Cokereto refers to Japanese pronounciation of Chocolate (uh-uh, at least that's what I think).

Ameer Long Leg.

Ameer is a slow learner, in terms of motor development I mean. He learns to turn over exactly the day he turns six months, when some babies that I know started to turn over by age of four to five months, and he hasn't crawl yet by eight months and two weeks when some crawl at seven to eight months. (But its funny looking at him trying to lift his bontot up and down, like someone who cheats doing push up hehehe.)

But it doesn't matter to me, since Ameer is still developing at normal milestone of development. But what is in my nerves is the other mothers who like to compare and brag about their child, like my son can walk at the age of seven months. I was like,"Are you kidding me??"

And to make it worse, my mother was also involved. She'll go,"Has Ameer knows to crawl?" and when I said,"No, he hasn't", she'll say,"oh so and so child can crawl by five months bla bla bla." I feel like screaming and covering my ears with cottonballs.

I know that they are only exagerating facts, since there is no way a seven months baby can walk (the earliest baby can walk is perhaps at the age of eleven months) unless if superman & wonderwomen get married thus produces superbaby, but I can't stand them brag and brag about their own child and make it sound like their child are clever because they can walk at the age of seven months.

Por Favor! Doesn't they know motor development does not reflect cleverness? What is more important are social skills (like Ameer who become so babyishly cute among pretty young ladies), communication skills (like Ameer who likes to amuse us with his avavava which suspiciously sounds like Abah, soo unfair, he suppose to say Mama first, not Abah ggrr) and interaction with your surrounding (like Ameer who likes to wander about and look closely at things especially the electrical appliances, well what can you say of an engineer's son).

Eh, do you sense someone is bragging around here?

Now that I know how it feels listening to other mothers brag, I'm telling myself not to brag and exagerate facts. I'll write his development in his baby's book, try as far as possible not to cheat, so that I got my facts right when I talk about Ameer.

Oh, but I think I'm guilty of bragging at some time, like saying how handsome he is, but Ameer memang handsome pon --> see, I didn't learn my lesson

Menenen (Part 2)

3. Bear with all those pain
It is normal for newborn to bite while breastfeeding. He is still learning, so don't give up breastfeeding just yet. If your breast feel painful during breastfeeding, this means that the baby is not correctly latching on your breast. (This also means that you are yet to master the skill of latching on your baby ) Put your finger into the corner of your baby's lip to release your nipple, and try latching on again. Do this again and again until both the mother & baby mastered. (This is what the nurses in Hospital Pantai made me do for my three-days warded in).

If the baby does bite, let out your cry to tell him that it hurts. He will soon understand that mummy hurts if he bites.

You should also have to differentiate between the pain of your baby's biting and the "let down" reflex. The "let down reflex" is the tingling sensation as the milk gush down your breast. This is normal.

(You may also feel pain in the stomach during breastfeeding. Do not be alarmed, your uterus is working on slimming itself back to pre-pregnancy size)

4. "Not enough milk?" - Do not easily jump into this conclusion
It is easy for parents nowadays to assume that the mother is not producing enough milk for her baby, if the baby does not seem to gain weight, or suck his thumb, (or that her breast is small). My advice is, don't, until you meet your GP to check whether his growth is normal, and lactation specialist to check whether it's true your milk factory does not work like it is supposed to :P

Logically, in this modern world, we are well-nourished mothers, aren't we? Only 1% of mothers in the world is not able to produce enough milk. Hope we're not one of them!

Furthermore, remember the equation, the supply will meet the demand. The more your baby sucks, the more your milk will be. God creates miracle, eh?

to be continued...

Early A.M.

Ok, tell me why is it you'll hear suspicious sounds when you're alone in the house? :turning green: Am I just imagining things?

Creepy.

Luckily, this is only a small apartment. If I were in our double storey house in Sungai Buloh, the one fronting Sungai Buloh prison which probably executes death sentence once in a while, alone (well, Ameer and cats don't count), that would be creepier. Very, very creepy. Just thinking about it now gives me goosebump.

Uh-uh... perhaps I should go sleep now.

Another Gloomy Weekend.

How's it like when someone throws up on you, over and over again? One word.

Euww.

That's how I spend half of my weekend. Getting puked on by Ameer. Poor him (and me)! I forgot how many times we changed our clothes, Ameer bathed, but sadly to say, I didn't even have time to clean myself. Urgh,I smelled like rotten fish. I couldn't be out of Ameer's sight, or he will scream, which will eventually result in more yucky phlegm and sour milk , on the floor, on the bed, on me.

To make matter worse, his body became feverish the whole night. He was in so much discomfort that his eyes shed tears unvoluntarily. So, both of us having difficulty to sleep. Well, since he breastfed, he finds comfort by doing that. Thank God, his body temperature goes down and the vomiting ceased this morning, after 4 coolfever on his forehead, a little habbatus sauda' in his milk, and very much praying.

It might be easier if we were not left alone to mend ourselves. Alas, what can I say, Ameer always get himself sick when his father is not around. Or, if I am allowed to be bitter, why can't you go to that three-days out thing on a better day???

I tried hard not to be angry. And still trying.

Money, Money, Money!

Budak, jangan marah budak. Tadi orang subscribe as donor to WWF. No, no, not that wrestling wrestling thing. Rasanya WWF stands for World Wildlife Foundation. Only RM30 per month, not that expensive kan? kan?

Furthermore, like you said last Monday, you won't question what I do with my money right?

xoxoxo

I went to the Post Office in the city during lunch, and I stopped by Plaza UO to eat. Omigod!! Very cheap.. snail khakis at RM19.90. I should come here again on friday, i must, i must!

........

Erk, where got money :(

My brother, Ajiz, have this one impressive Canon printer (I don't know the cost) that he uses to print photos that he shoots using a Canon camera with 2MB pixels costing RM800 only. The printer is unordinarily big for Canon printer standard (since most of Canon printers are space-friendly unlike HPs yang besar gedabak nak mampos) and it has like five colour cartridges. And it got trays for different paper sizes. Huhuhu very impressive indeed.

And the end result is sooo nice. The photos that he printed himself looks like the one you get from kedai gambar.

I want, I want *sigh*

p/s: it doesn't help that someone / "banyak"one broke into our apartment and stole our Sony digital camera last time boohoo.

What is Spirulina?
Spirulina is a type of sea alga; spiral in shape. Hence, it is known as Spirulina. It contains nutrients found in rice, vegetables, fruits, meat and fish. It is therefore dubbed "the ideal food for future" or "foor for astronauts".

Spirulina is rich in 4 main pigments. Research shows that these natural pigments are antioxidant in nature. In addition to providing nutrients needed by our body, Spirulina is 100% alkaline, which is good for regulating acidity in our body.

In Japan, more than 20,000 doctors recommend spirulina as health supplement to their patients. Research in Russia also finds Spirulina posseses anti-radiation property. In Mexico, spirulina is added in infant's milk. Nutritionists confirmed that nutrition in 1g Spirulina is equivalent to nutrition in 1 kg vegetables or fruits. In other others, Spirulina is high in nutrition; provides 1000 more nutrition than of vegetables and fruits.

Is Spirulina important to us?
Today, steroid and hormone are widely used in poultry farming to boost their maturation. Now, a chicken only needs 40 days to mature rather than 6 months with normal farming.

The proliferating use of pesticides in crops destroys nutrients and the chemicals contaminate our digestive system. Furthermore, many of us practice unhealthy diet and consume more acidic food, such as fish, prawn, meat, but less vegetables or fruits. Unhealthy lifestyle, such as extensive alcohol intake, smoking, late to bed, hinders metabolism and toxin excretion from the body. Unhealthy diet further leads to imbalanced nutrition, making us vulnerable to diseases.

To avoid imbalanced nutrition intake, we need Spirulina to regulate body nutrients and pH Level.

The best choice is " Platensen AAA Spirulina " - the natural and organic Spirulina.

Use instuction: Infant 1-2 tablets( grind and mix milk or juices )
Children 2-3 tablets
Adolescents 5-10 tablets
Adults 10-15 tablets
Pregnant women 15-20 tablets
Patients 15-20 tablets

For those on medication, consume your medication and supplement seperately: 1 hour before or after medication. Drink 2-3 liters water before consuming Spirulina.

1st Week 3 tablets, twice daily.
2nd week 5 tablets, twice daily.

p/s: haa eni, eda.. apa lagi, order la from aku banyak2

My boy.

Early signs of a "real" man:
1. If we spread lots of things on the floor, he will reach for the remote control, telephone, CPUs that his father put on the floor (yup, we have lots of computer gadget scattered all over the apartment), mini hifi (until the cover of the speaker comes off) & those electrical appliances and wires (ggrr, bahaya la tu ameer!), other than the supposedly baby thingies like rattles, soft toys & the bouncing balls.

2. When we were in the elevator, he will flash his cute smile and act that babyish cute thing to the females, the young, beautiful ones to be exact but bolayan to the guys.

3. He's started to reach for the car steering when his father was driving. We have to satisfy his need by putting him on his father's lap, without the car moving that is.

4. Aduhai, manjanyaaa dengan mama :P

We're talking about eight-months old baby here, ok?

Happy Birthday, Mak!

Hari ni aku ponteng kerja. Alasannya, aku & Ameer kurang sihat hehe. Tapi memang betul pon kami kurang sihat. Badan Ameer cam suam2 kuku sebab semalam dah pakaikan coolfever kat kepala & hidung dia asek berhingus. Aku pon sakit lebih kurang la macam Ameer. Like mother like son gitu.

The last weekend, kami balik kampung Johor. Kami means aku & Ameer. Paknya kami tinggalkan di KL muahahahaha. Kami tumpang kereta Ayid. Best woo naik stream, ayid bawak kete laju pon tak terasa cam terbang.

Kenapa balik kampong? Mak aku jadi mama melampau, dah tua2 pon demand birthday celebration  Tapi memang best, siap ada sate yum yum, mihun goreng, kek & manisan, buah2an & macam2 lagi la. Kenyang perot aku sampai ke pagi nih.

Abang Long aku kata, "Bagus juga mak buat macam ni. Dah lama long tak makan sate." Ceh, apa punya statement daa abang aku nih. Kata laa bagus sebab dah lama tak berkumpul satu keluarga ke hapa, ini pasal makanan yg disebutnya. Yelah, orang kat Iraq, Afrika sana, tak dapat makan sedap2 macam gini. Ooohh... ok, boleh diterima ayat Long.

Ini dia senarai hadiah yang mak aku terima semalam:
1. Walkman - mak aku melampau demand benda nih from Ayid
2. Pokok orkid - Kak Azi, wife Long, belikan untuk mak kat Orkid Valley di Skudai. Mak aku memang minat betul bercucuk tanam bunga-bungaan ni.
3. Facial cleanser & day cream from The Natural Source untuk kulit mak yang banyak freckles - ni akulah yang kasi hehehe. (Nek, apa tu nek? Ni nenek nak jadi muda balik muahahaha)
4. Ali sponsor makanan.
5. Ni hadiah paling mahal, Abang Aziz sponsor baki pembayaran pembinaan rumah mak.

Adik aku, adha dot? Mamat tu mana ada duit muahahahahaha.

Beauty and The eerr... Beauty

Today, Aida and I did the unexpected. We went into a beauty parlor, looking at the beauty products on the shelves, asking beautifying questions and lingering around. I think those things were done in order to delay our actual intention of going inside, or perhaps to say it in a better phrase, to warm up.

Aida, yup that Aida, was the one who brought up the idea but she seemed shy (and eager too!) to do it  She kept mentioning and giving the idea (and rolled her eyes as she said that) that I should go first while she watch. Well, she might need some encouragement. So I said, lets do it.

That's how I ended up doing FACIAL during our lunch break hahaha. We however, unable to hasut Aini to do it with us. She wanted to do the asap-asap thing for her itching resdung nose, which costs only RM10 in Rawang, some ulu place in Selangor, with her duhling husband :P

But I think she did bought some beautifying thingies, Nona Roguy jamu or what, didn't you Aini? *wink*

Actually it was about time Aida brought up that idea. My last facial regimen was somewhere in October 2002 hahaha no wonder my face felt like coarse floor of an abandon house like 2-3 years as they rubbed and scrubbed my face with whatever beautifying things they called it, as those toner, moisturizer, whatever cream, vitamin, are kinda alien to me. Hah, some lady I am.

In the nutshell, it can be said that I enjoyed our visit to the beauty parlor. The people there were nice and friendly, they gave good service and we got our satisfying facial done. As for Aida, I couldn't help feeling happy for her as she walked out that parlor looking very radiant and beautiful. (Not that she wasn't beautiful before, don't get me wrong here) And with Rudolph's red nose hahaha.

Note 1: Rudolph is the naughty santa's reindeer.
Note 2: The nose became red because they poked our nose with needle-like thing with a loop in the end to take the bad, bad acne out of our face.

As for me, I felt great myself and as Aida put it, I looked pinkish hahahaha.

xoxoxo

I can't help smiling as Ahmad gave his remark when he reached home this evening.

"Haa Ameer, tu mama tengah karang blog dia la tu." With a little emphasize on the blog word.

Haha who asked me to boast with him about the existence of this blog in the first place? Now its like having your wicked brother reading your diary. Oh my, oh my!

The Veil.

So... did he manage to get me a tudung labuh? Haha no, but at least I bought 2 tudung separa labuh, like the one you wear to school, which I actually had wanted to buy long time ago since it is easier to wear, easier to manage my black silky hair *eceh* & easier to hide the breastfeeding Ameer with haha.

But the thing is, this kind of tudung not so popular among Malaysian Muslimat and so the choice of colour is very limited. I wanted to buy a cream colour one but what they have is something between orange and yellow. Hmm... well, think I better go on Friday to change the tudung to perhaps white or something that matches the most with my baju.

Or perhaps I could buy some cloth and send them tailored. Ermm... I think that I will do.

Oh, Aida also said that they make better tudung in Kelantan. Do they have vast choices of colors too Aida? Hmm.. should go back to Kelantan one of these days, our last visit was during Korban but we need to have a new car to get there. Our kancil is not as powerful as before, and it doesn't even have aircond! Not that I'm whining, I don't mind riding that old kancil but then, we had many times turn down our intention to go back Johore or Kelantan for that reason.

Takde sapa ke nak sponsor kereta? hehehe...

It was Magic.

I had always thought that there is something magical about English garden. The sweet smell of roses, array of colours of blooming lilies, daffodils and forget-me-nots, with robins chirping and hopping around merrily, and the scented smell of springtime, which I shall say, romantically astounding.

So, I can't help feeling the magic as I read The Secret Garden. It took me two days to finish it, as Ameer is going through those irritating clingy stage, but that doesn't really matter. Furthermore, I intendedly read slower than usual, absorbing the words and let the secret garden coming alive in my imagination. Oh, what a wonderful magical thing indeed!

I am in the office at this moment, on Sunday morning, leaving my husband and son sleeping soundly side by side, doing my work that never seem to finish, but thanks to this book, I'm thinking of beautiful roses, lilies and daffodils, green moss carpet, robins and skylarks, secret gardens and old gardeners, moorland cottage and giggling children, sunshine and springtime. Thinking about those wonderful things there are in the world amazingly swept away my gloom and solemn thoughts I had since last Friday.

I wish I could go to the real English garden instead of imagining it in my head *sigh*
